No attorney-client relationship

Reading this site, sending an email, calling the office, submitting the contact form, or making a payment through the payment page does not make you a client of Khatib Law LLC and does not mean the firm has agreed to represent you. An attorney-client relationship exists only after we have run a conflicts check and you and the firm have signed a written engagement agreement. Until then, the firm has no duty to act for you, to file anything, or to protect a deadline.

Do not send confidential or time-sensitive information until we are engaged

Until you receive a signed engagement agreement, please limit what you send us to your name, contact details and a short description of the matter. Information you send before engagement may not be treated as confidential beyond what the law requires, and sending it does not prevent the firm from representing another party, including a party adverse to you. If you have a deadline, such as a court date, an IRS notice date or an assessment appeal closing date, call (708) 722-2222 rather than relying on a form or an email.

Prior results, case descriptions and testimonials

Any description of a past matter or outcome on this site reflects the facts of that matter. It does not predict the result in yours and is not a promise. Each matter depends on its own facts, the law that applies, the evidence available, and decisions made by courts and agencies outside our control.

This site does not currently display client testimonials. If we add any, they will come from actual clients who have given written consent, will describe that person's own experience, and will not have been paid for.

Certifications, specialties and awards

The Supreme Court of Illinois does not recognize certifications of specialties in the practice of law. Nothing on this site claims that Hani H. Khatib holds a certification in any field of law. No award or recognition is a requirement to practice law in Illinois, and none is displayed on this site as of the date above. "Certified Public Accountant" refers to a professional license issued to accountants, not to a legal specialty.

Relationship to Cook County Tax Appeals LLC

Cook County Tax Appeals LLC is a sister company founded by Hani Khatib. It is a separate Illinois limited liability company that shares the firm's office at 6600 W College Dr, Ste 207, Palos Heights, and handles Cook County property tax assessment appeals that do not require a lawyer, on a contingency basis. Appeals that require a lawyer or go past the Board of Review, such as those for property held in an entity, are handled by Khatib Law LLC under its own engagement agreement. When this site refers you to cookcountytaxappeal.com, you are dealing with that company under its own agreement, terms and privacy policy. You are free to use any other firm, or to file an appeal yourself; the referral is not exclusive. Nothing on this site is a promise by Khatib Law LLC about the outcome of an appeal handled by Cook County Tax Appeals LLC. The written agreement you sign states which company is acting for you.
